Lone Mountain Animal Hospital
Pet of the Month: December 2005

"Yoda" (Golden Retriever/Collie)

"Yoda" is an 8 year old Golden Retriever/Collie mix. When he was five years old, Yoda
began having periodic seizures. The seizures became more frequent and severe in nature.
"Yoda" was diagnosed with Epilepsy and the seizures have been kept under control with
drug treatment and supportive care.

Suddenly in October of this year, "Yoda" began having clusters of seizures that were
very severe and his condition took a turn for the worse as he slipped into a demented
state.  "Yoda" was treated at LMAH and the Veterinary Neurological Center to decrease
brain swelling that had resulted.  After four difficult days of intensive care and no signs
of change, "Yoda" suddenly started to improve.  Now "Yoda" is back home and has
recovered his vision, mobility, and his appetite. "Yoda's" mom is looking forward to the
future and is hopeful for a full recovery.

Yoda has been voted "Pet of the Month" for December 2005 by the doctors
and staff of Lone Mountain Animal Hospital.  We are pleased to see him doing
well and living a normal life. CONGRATULATIONS, YODA!
